The 5th Hour Challenge - Closed

Welcome to My Little Pocketbooks
5th Hour Challenge!

This awesome read-a-thon is hosted by DEWEY'S 24 HOUR READ-A-THON

Right now it's 9:00 am here is Los Angeles, California.
How are you feeling? Just waking up and had your coffee yet.  Second cup?

Well...You have been reading for 5-ish hours now.  And I know you are eying your  food reserve.
Would a Challenge get your mind off of it?  Get you motivated and focused a bit?
What about an easy challenge with a great return?
That's what I thought!

Bloggiesta Tutorial: Retrieving Missing Disqus Comments

Hosted by Bloggiesta
Welcome to my third Bloggiesta Tutorial!
I learned something new and I thought I can't be the only one who didn't know this.  So I thought Bloggiesta would be the perfect time for me to share my new knowledge with you all.  If you would like to install Disqus onto your blog, check out the cute blog River City Readings and she will give you step by step instructions.  If you have Disqus then read on...

The Problem

Do you use Disqus commenting system on your blog?  Do you subscribe to get newly posted comments send to your email?  Have you ever noticed a comment in your email inbox was not on your blog?
Where did the comment go?

The Answer

The comment is on a different extension based on the country of the commenter.  Do that make sense?  Ok!  If you are a .com blog and I leave a comment on your blog while sitting in a cafe in India then your blog will might have an .in ending instead and that is where the comment lives.  Yes!  On your India version of your site.  When I found this out I had been blogging for a bout 3 years and found 2,000 missing comments. OK!  So now you know the answer let me show you how to fix it.

Book Spine Poetry from Bout of Books 11

http://littlepocketbooks.blogspot.com/2014/08/bout-of-books-challenge-book-spine.html
Back in August I was honored to host a book spine poetry mini challenge for Bout of Books 11.0.  I was shocked and overwhelmed at the number of people who participated in the mini-challenge.  There were short poems and crazy long poems.  Poems that made you laugh and a few head scratches.  But overall it was AMAZING!
Here are just a few from the 120 poems entered.  I just selected a few random ones.  Click the image to visit the blogger/poet.

Bloggiesta Mini-Challenge: 50 Bookish Things

The Book Wheel
During Bloggiesta I participated in a mini-challenge hosted by The Book Wheel and Love at First Book.
The challenge is to create a list of 50 Bookish Things you want to do before you kick the bucket.
This took me awhile to get my list together.  After reading the other list from various bloggers, they all seem to be the same things in mind.  I have a few things that are, I guess, not what most of the book bloggers want.   Here is it!

Bloggiesta Mini-Challenge: Post Brainstorming

Welcome to another Bloggiesta Mini-Challenge.
Sept. 20 - Sept 22
Today's mini-challenge is all about coming up with post ideas.  Some people tell you to post a lot to get readers.  But there is only so much you can say about the books you are reading.  Right? Well today I am going to try and help you out by giving you 13 different ideas to help you come up with a few new ideas.
Disclaimer!!!
I am by far NOT a blogger expert/pro.  I am just shooting out ideas to help you with brainstorming about post topics.  This is not a MUST DO at all.  Just a suggestion.  OK!  We cool!  OK!
If you follow all of these suggestions then you can post about 336 post in a year.

Let's get started!
