New Cover: Kevin's Point of View

Last year I received a book by the name of Kevin's Point of View from the books author Del Shannon for review.  It was one of my first books from an author for review.  After reading it, I gave the book 5 out 5 stars because it held my attention and was a great children's adventure.
Recently, Del Shannon emailed me to let me know his book has a new cover.  But before I reveal the new cover I want to tell you a bit of information about the old cover.
So from what I have heard, the old cover was from a drawing a young reader drew after reading the book.  The picture was from a scene in the book of Kevin in the bathroom.  I love that Del thought enough of his young readers to have them involved in the creative process of his writing this book.  How cool is that?!

Now are you ready for the new and improved cover.  The 2.0 version.

Completed 5 post. And completed 2 books in my ARC Clean Sweep Challenge.  That is my personal AMAZING week of Bout of Books!

Spine Speak: April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hosted by: Kimberly at Bookmark to Blog

I ran across this blog post during April's National Poetry Month and thought this would be a fun and interesting challenge to join in. What is Spine Speak all about?  According to Kimberly's blog post you have to gather 5 or more books to make a poem.  The poem should be posted on the 3rd Thursday of the month and follow the given theme.  Link the poem post (with picture, book title and author) to her site and if you complete all the listed months you can win a $50.00 Amazon Gift Card.  Now, who does not like to win $$.  How cool is that?

Bout of Books Progress
Everyday of the read-a-thon this post will be updated with my progress.  Are you doing this read-a-thon as well?  Let me know in the comment section how you are doing and I'll try and stop by your blog to cheer you on.

I Love This: TopShop Satchel

There is something so formal business cute about the bag that I just love.  When I lived in Japan all the school children has navy blue school bags just like these.  I wanted one so bad but it would have been strange (I think) walking about with a kids school bag.  Like I stole it or something.

Asian Pacific Heritage Month

Did you know here in the US we celebrate the heritage of our Asian Pacific American brothers and sisters?
Well, you learned something new today.  Last month was reserved for poets. March we celebrated Women in and making History.  February was the celebration of African American Heritage.
Today I thought it would be cool to create a post highlighting a few books with Asian Pacific American characters and the authors who write them.

Bout of Books 7.0: Sign up & Goals

Bout of Books
It's almost that time again! Time to get our reading on with Bout of Books! Yes!!! Another Read-A-Thon! Just like last year I plan on getting a book or two off my TBR list and on to my Finished list.
What's Bout of Books all about?
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

April 2013 Wrap Up

I hate to say it but I am thrilled that April is over!  April has been one of the busiest months this year and this chica needs a rest.  I have no idea really what was so over the top with it but there were so many things going on in April that sleep and reading were in jeopardy.  If you know me, then you know those two things...along with food are very, very  important to me.
Life tried to take over but I had to put my foot down (a little) to get some reading in.  Here is my wrap up for crazy April.
