Playing Catch Up
Hosted by Herding Cats and Burning Soup
OMG! What wonderful timing!??! This morning I was thinking of the huge list of books I have to review and why I was not blogging like I should. I have most of my great thoughts and introspective moments in the shower. Honestly, I have solved some of my most perplexing life situations in the shower at 4:45am.
Sorry I just had to insert a shower scene for you. No not for me! It's for you. Really!
Anyways .... Once I got to work I jumped over The Book Vixen's blog to see when the next Review-A-Thon will be. I don't know about you but I need a read-a-thon to get caught up on my reading and a review-a-thon to get caught up on my reviews. On her site she has a list of other bookish events going on this month and whammmm! there it was.
A bloggery version of NaNoWriMo!
Blog Ahead
That is PERFECT!!!
An event to solve my review and blogging slump.

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon: I'm Sleepy
Hosted by 24 Hour Read-a-thon
I am tired ya'll. I have not read for the full 17 hours and I am not planning on doing the remaining 7 hours. I am just too sleepy. It's 9:31pm and I went to bed late last night. So it is now catching up with me. But I am happy to say two book are officially off of my DNF list. Yep. Two. I have a ever growing DNF list this year. The first year I started blogging I only had one. Last year, two DNF books. This year the list was over 5 and that is not cool. I have been starting and stopping so many books this year. I have no idea if it is me or if it's the books but I need to pile to stop growing. Yep! That means I finish books I don't even like. LOL!
So here are my stats
Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon: Morning Progress
Yeah! One book in my completed list. Now on to book two. I decided like right now to just update here and there to let you know I am still here reading. So here is what I have been up to so far. By the way, breakfast is being made right now by my honey.

Diversity on the Shelf: Approved Books pt. 9
Inspired by POC Reading Challenge
Are you a participant of the Diversity on the Self 2014 Reading Challenge (aka D.O.T.S.)? Did you have a goal this year to read more books by People of Color? How are you doing?
Just in case you aren't hitting your goal or just want to find a few new titles to add to your collection here are what I like to call "Diversity Approved Books". All of these books are by a person of color OR have a main character of color.
Sometimes these books don't get the love they should and hearing about them is so very rare.
You can see other books and review link ups by clicking one of the links in the side bar menu under the D.O.T.S. reading challenge button.
By the way, it's not to late to sign up. Click the reading challenge button and link up your sign up post. Non bloggers are welcomed too.
