Book Description

The First Phone Call from Heaven tells the story of a small town on Lake Michigan that gets worldwide attention when its citizens start receiving phone calls from the afterlife. Is it the greatest miracle ever or a massive hoax? Sully Harding, a grief-stricken single father, is determined to find out. An allegory about the power of belief—and a page-turner that will touch your soul—Albom's masterful storytelling has never been so moving and unexpected.
Readers of The Five People You Meet in Heaven will recognize the warmth and emotion so redolent of Albom's writing, and those who haven't yet enjoyed the power of his storytelling, will thrill at the discovery of one of the best-loved writers of our time.

Review

This is the third or fourth book I have read by this author and I have to say that he is one of my go to authors for sure.  Mitch Albom will never ever disappoint you in telling a wonderful story and this book is no exception.
In a small and quaint town where everyone knows everyone things begin to change when phone calls from deceased family members begin to arrive in their homes.  Since every single person did not get a phone call these events call others to believe they are real or it's one big hoax.  Sully, a widower is determined to prove they are being hoaxed into believe the phone calls are real.
Mitch Albom has a great way of telling a story that is easy and not over the top.  From the very beginning the mysterious phone calls and the receivers of the phone calls had me hooked.  I wanted to know more about the calls and where they were really coming from; Heaven or Somewhere Else.  I love how each person that received a call has different reactions and different responses to the media.  Like some people tell others while other people kept the news to themselves.
Mitch Albom is a great writer who knows how to pull a reader in on the first page and hold you there.
