Book Blogger Hop: Unsolicited Books and Fruit

Hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer
Welcome everyone to another post of Book Blogger Hop (hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer). Each week there will be a new topic submit by a blogger and everyone can join in with their answers. You should join us! It's quite fun!  No really it is!

This Weeks Topic/Question

How do you handle unsolicited books that appear in your mailbox? Do you add them to your queue? Do you write to the sender and explain you didn't ask for the book and are not sure when you will be able to read and review the book? Or do you simply not read the book at all? (submitted by Elizabeth)

My Answer

I have received a few unsolicited books from authors of various genres in paperback and e-book formats.  Most of the time I use them as giveaways to my blog readers or to book club members.  I have way to many books to read and review as it is.  I think once the pile in my place is down to half then maybe I will read and review unsolicited books, but until then it's not happening.

What do you do about unsolicited books in the mail?

For the past two months I have been jumping on this meme hosted by Sugar and Snark featuring book covers.  I really enjoy it and I think I will continue doing it as long as they continue hosting it.  This meme is all about YA book covers (mostly) but I have added my Alysia touch to it and I am trying to add some diversity in my selections and I am mixing up the genres.

Each week we will post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite covers with that characteristic. If you want to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the weeks particular characteristic, then just make a post, grab the meme picture (or make your own) and leave your URL in Linky (so we can visit). ~From Sugar and Snark

  Fruity Covers

So this week the cover characteristic is all about the fruity! I have to say this was the HARDEST cover characteristics I have done so far.  You would think fruit would be easy but no!!!!  It was sooo hard!  *whiny voice*
