Audiobook Week: 2011-2012 Audiobook Year

Welcome Everyone to Audiobook Week!
From June 25th to June 29 Devourer of Books is hosting a week of topics, giveaways and post dedicated to Audiobooks.  I had no idea there was a week just for Audiobooks but now that I am a 80 mile round trip commuter, I am so exited to post everyday about my new hobby.  Listening to Audiobooks!
Today's topic:  2011-2012, Your Audiobook Year
Are you new to audiobooks in the last year? Have you been listening to them forever but discovered something new this year? Favorite titles? New times/places to listen? This is your chance to introduce yourself and your general listening experience.

I have listen to a few, very few audiobooks before this year.  I think there were only two last year.  The Help which was great!  I did the audiobook to get myself ready for a book club meeting.   The other one was from Border Bookstore closing sale.  When the store started marking the whole store down to 50-60% off, I jumped over to the audiobook section.  The only audiobook that was still sitting there was The Monsters of Templeton.  So now that I am a professional commuter this year, I have so many more under my belt.  As a commuter I listen to all my audiobooks in the car.  1 hour to work and 1.5 hours home 5 days a week.
In the past six months I have listened to:
14 audiobooks so far this year.
6 of them were free short stories from Audible.com
1 came from the e-library via Overdrive
3 were apart of a series
Currently listening to the longest one of all at 46 hours and 50 minutes
1 was an actual CD  set
3 audiobooks downloaded and waiting on me to read them
10 have been reviewed on this site

There are two audiobooks that I loved~
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray (Review coming soon)  But let me tell you...This audiobook sets the bar so high for ALL audiobooks.  The best of the best.  Story and all!  AMAZING!  And the second is The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.  I know you are sooo tired of me talking about this book...but... you know!  Love it! REVIEW HERE.

What are some of your audiobook favorites so far?  Any new finds?
