As I am getting my New Years Resolutions for 2014 together I want to pick a few reading challenges to help with my bookish goals. There are just so many reading challenges out there, it makes it impossibly hard to pick which ones to sign up for. I just keep telling myself to be realistic and not to get too carried away. Like I did last year. So this year I am going to try a few new ones and keep up with a few old ones.
~ New to Me Reading Challenges ~
Host: My Little Pocketbooks (me)
Purpose: Read books by authors of color and/or with a main character of color
Level: 4th Shelf (19 - 24 books)
Some of the books I plan to read that will cross challenges:
Purpose: It’s an alphabet challenge!!! The challenge is to read one book that has a title starting with every letter of the alphabet.
Level: N/A
Host: Literary Escapism
Purpose: The idea behind this is to find new authors that you’ve never tried before, not necessarily ones that are debuting.
Level: 15 New to me Authors
Host: Jessie's Book Place
Purpose: This is a challenge about reading books with less than 300 pages.
Level: Paperclips (15 books)
Host: Coffee Bean Bookshelf
Purpose: I’m challenging myself (and you) to slow down, rewind a little bit and
get to those books that we wanted to read SO badly before they were
released but somehow got lost in the shuffle.
Level: 12 Books
Host: Roof Beam Reader
Purpose: To finally read 12 books from your “to be read” pile (within 12 months).
My 12 Books Are (I hope)
12. Illusions by Chantilly Chanel Austin (for review)
With alternates from this list (Here)
~Doing These Challenges Again~
Host: Teresa's Reading Corner
Purpose: This challenge is for Audio Book lovers as well as those who are brand new to them.
Level: Married (Listen to more than 25 Audio Books)
Host: Historical Tapestry
Purpose: To read historical fiction books.
Level: Victorian reader (5 books)
Host: Goodreads
Purpose: To read books to hit my goal.
